Turkish TB2 Combat Drones Secure $321 Million Contract From Romania

Romania's Ministry of National Defense has awarded a $321m contract to Turkish firm Baykar for TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Last year, the ministry announced its plans to procure three TB2 drone packages from Baykar Makina

worth $300m, subject to parliamentary approval.

The contract includes six aerial platforms with target engagement capabilities for each system

as well as initial logistical support, necessary training and equipment.

The drones are set to be delivered to Timisoara, where the Romanian Air Force operated the 93rd Air Base.

Romania's defense budget will increase to 2.5% of GDP in 2023.
