The Greek businesses EFA Group and Ucandrone PC worked together to create the UAV, and research teams from the Greek Navy, the Hellenic Aerospace Industry, and the Universities of Thessaloniki, Thessaly, and Thrace also contributed to the project.

According to Greek specialists, Archytas is utilising technology used by the United States in its distinctive fifth-generation fighter, the F-35B, which can land vertically.

The UAV uses a single engine operating a pusher propeller for horizontal flight, according to Jane’s Defence Weekly. Four electrically powered propellers that are mounted on the longitudinal beams that link the wings to the negative-V tail provide the aircraft its VTOL capability.

The four strut landing gear on the Archytas is built to improve flying endurance while minimising drag. The armed forces and civil protection organisations may both use the UAV, which will have a variety of functions.
