Garuda Aerospace Is The First Drone Company To Be Approved By The DGCA

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has sponsored Garuda Aerospace, India's premier drone manufacturer, in becoming the country's first drone company to gain Type Certification and Remote Pilot Training Organization (RTPO) certifications from the DGCA for their indigenously made Kisan Drones.

Garuda Aerospace is India’s first drone startup to receive both Type Certification and Remote Pilot Training Organization (RTPO) approvals by DGCA. Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested in the company. Garuda Aerospace boasts of a drone fleet of 400 drones and a well-trained team of over 500 pilots.

The DGCA Type certification is offered based on the quality of the drones and is issued through a thorough testing process for the UAVs.

The Type certification was introduced by the government of India under Drone Rules in August 2021, and the historic dual DGCA clearance reinforces Garuda’s position as India’s most valued Drone startup.

MS Dhoni has invested in a startup that makes drones and supports the country’s agriculture environment. Dhoni has worked in a variety of businesses, including clothes, alcohol, and agriculture. He is now under contract to invest in agricultural drones as well.

Garuda Kisan Drone is now eligible for Rs 10 lakh unsecured loans from Agri Infrastructure Fund at 5% APR and 50-100% government subsidy after receiving Type Certificate for the GA-AG model. “Garuda Kisan Drone” is India’s most cheap sophisticated automated Agri Drone with DGCA-approved Type Certification in the under 25kg small category, priced at Rs 4.50 lakh. “ICAR, KVKs, FMTTI, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, and various other Government Agriculture authorities will now be able to procure high-tech Made in India Drones made by Garuda Aerospace,” according to a company release.

Garuda hopes that this would lead to the creation of work prospects for youth in the near future, with a goal of training 1 lakh drone pilots in the next two years. Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested in the firm and serves as its brand ambassador. Dhoni just unveiled the ‘Droni’ drone. Garuda Aerospace has a fleet of 400 drones and a well-trained workforce of over 500 pilots spread across 26 cities. Garuda Aerospace has been dubbed India’s most valuable company, and it hopes to become the country’s first unicorn drone firm in the near future.
