Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated India’s first Drone Skilling and Training Virtual E-Learning Platform at the Chennai manufacturing facility of Garuda Aerospace. The Minister also launched the first of 1000 planned Drone Centre of Excellence at the company's Manufacturing unit in Chennai. To gain hands-on experience, and understand functionality and technology, he also flew a drone.
Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, inaugurated India’s first Drone Skilling and Training Virtual E-Learning Platform at the Chennai manufacturing facility of Garuda Aerospace, a drone-based startup in India, with the goal of empowering and mobilising farmers across the country through the use of agri-drones.
The Minister also launched Garuda Aerospace’s ‘Operation 777’ drone yatra, which will teach and showcase the usefulness of drones for various agricultural purposes across 777 districts in India.
First Drone Training Conference
The I&B Minister also inaugurated the first of 1000 planned Drone Centres of Excellence at the company’s Chennai manufacturing site, which is also India’s largest. He also piloted a drone after a fast crash session to obtain hands-on experience and grasp functioning and technology.
According to Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder & CEO of Garuda Aerospace, the business is devoted to creating an ecosystem of knowledge surrounding drones and their application in India’s agriculture industry, with farmer integration at the forefront. “The objective is to establish deep tech data analysis, where we can give Agri advice services back to the farmers,” Jayprakash explained, emphasising the need of developing a system in which farmers can be advised on how to undertake farming in a smart and precise method in terms of yield productivity.
