Recently, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation authorised the deployment of drones for live aerial cinematography of the cricket season by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), he noted. He maintained that there was great potential for drone technology in the country, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the concept of ‘Make in India’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat during the COVID-19 summit in 2014, and many in the country questioned if it could be realised or not.

“Today, as I stand in this facility (for drone manufacture), I can see how our country’s youth are succeeding.” “I am certain that India’s young will have a bright and dazzling future,” he remarked. Referring to his native state, Thakur stated that many Himachal Pradesh youngsters were going to large cities after graduation in search of better chances. With the establishment of such training institutions, we would be able to create thousands of employment in places such as Himachal Pradesh. This will keep migration in check. It will build a local ecosystem and encourage local enterprise,” he continued.
